การประกาศอัตราจ้างงาน เดือนพ.ย. ประกาศช้ากว่ากำหนดการเดิม เนื่องจากไว้อาลัยอดีตประธานาธิบดีบุช โดยอยู่ที่ 1.79 แสนคน ต่ำสุดในรอบ 3 เดือน ทำให้ USD ถูกกดดัน ราคาทองคำดีดตัวขึ้น 10USD ผ่านจุดสูงสุดเมืองกลางเดือนก.ค. ที่่ผ่านมา ราคาอยู่ที่ 1244.28USD/ออนซ์ ส่วนตัวเลขขาดดุลการค้าเดือน ต.ค. อยู่ที่ 5.55 หมื่นล้าน USD สูงสุดตั้งแต่เดือนต.ค. ปี 2008
การประชุมสุดยอดผู้นำ OPEC ครั้งนี้มีการแถลงสรุปที่ล่าช้ากว่าปกติ ขณะเดียวกันมีนัยการลดปริมาณการผลิตลง 1 ล้านบาร์เรลต่อวัน ซึ่งต่ำกว่าที่นักลงทุนส่วนมากคาดหวังไว้ที่ 1.3-1.5 ล้านบาร์เรลต่อวัน หลังข่าวออกมาทำให้ราคาน้ำมันดิบเบรนท์ร่วงลงไปอยู่ที่ 58.06 USD ต่อบาร์เรล ด้านรัสเซียไม่เห็นด้วยกับการลดปริมาณผลิตน้ำมัน ทำให้ยังยากต่อการเกิดมติที่เป็นเอกฉันท์
